Yes, this is one of those places where they charge 'salad by the pound' but its not as generic as the other deli's in Midtown. This place has more than just salad. There's a Japanese Station with made to order Udon Noodle Soup combo's & Bento boxes and sushi rolls to go (my favorite is the Spicy Tuna w/Brown rice roll - $6.25). There's also a standard grill station for burgers and chicken sandwiches, a pasta bar, hot and cold buffet, along with the ever so famous, "Tossed Salad" station where you pick your plastic bowl, hand it over and yell your 'toss ins' over a tall (well...its tall for me) glass counter.
A few steps away is the Mongolian Grill station, where you pick your noodles and/or rice, raw meats and/or seafood, veggies and a whole boatload of condiments from garlic, to soy, to ginger sauces. You then give up your creation and watch it get stir fried on 1 of 2 Mongolian style grills. Depending on how much you add to your bowl, you could spend anywhere from $7-$10. Tastier choices I think are the spinach pasta, shrimp and any of the vegetables.
If Midtown Lunchers pick and choose right, they can have a fresh and filling lunch here under $10.
