Where have I been? From Phoenix over Thanksgiving to the busy busy holiday season, to snowboarding in VT, I have still been eating and obsessing over food, drink and chocolate. I've found a new love affair with: Dunkin Donuts flat bread sandwiches & hash browns, The Steak Truck on 47th and Park, Paris Baguette bakery, and so much more. I know I'm more than a month late, but HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Some things to look forward to this year:
-More Tastemaker Food Samples (Stay tuned for my review of Quaker's new TRUE DELIGHTS fancy granola bars)
-MAX BRENNER's chocolate recipe book, CHOCOLATE: A LOVE STORY, which my company will be publishing in November :)! I'll keep you posted!
-Food adventures when visiting my brother in Colorado
-More STEAK TRUCK
Garlic Fries from Joe's Farm in Phoenix over Thanksgiving
Ahi Tuna Burger from Joe's Farm
Peking Pork Chops from Corner 28 in Flushing, (Queens)
Mocha cake and fluffy donuts from Paris Baguette in Flushing
Korean BBQ in Flushing
For a belated birthday, the Capili's took me to Cendrillon in Soho -- Asian/Filipino food with the best Lechon (fried pork belly) I've ever had. Check out Market Manila for a detailed review of the restaurant.
Here is their version of Lumpiang Sariwa (fresh lumpia) using a taro based crepe batter, which is why its purple.
Ukoy (deep fried shrimp & sweet potato fritters) served with vinegar dipping sauce.
Cendrillion's Champurrado (chocolate and rice pudding)
French toast at Paris Commune
